Vigna
Montale
The highest vineyard on the estate. A hilltop between 200 and 240 metres, facing north-east and north-west, on the Collina di Agello.
Vigna Montale occupies an isolated hilltop — a ridge overlooking the Marzeno valley with exposures ranging from north-east to north-west depending on the slope. The highest vineyard on the estate brings with it marked day-night temperature variation, thick skins, vibrant acidity. A vertical Sangiovese, with tension and a precision that only altitude can deliver. Same winemaking as Vigna Ca’ del Rosso — 90-day maceration, tonneau, cement, 18 months in bottle — because the method is the same, but the wine tells a different place.

The highest vineyard
at Ca’ di Sopra.
Vigna Montale is an isolated hilltop — a ridge overlooking the Collina di Agello with exposures ranging from north-east to north-west depending on the slope. The vines, planted in 2001, grow on blue clays at the highest altitudes of the estate.
The elevated position brings more marked day-night temperature variation than the valley-floor vineyards. The skins thicken, acidity is preserved, ripening slows. The result is a vertical Sangiovese — tension, precision, longevity.
Current vintages available: 2019 and 2020. The 2021 will be released in September 2026.
